简介：byMattCollar TrumpeterSeanJonesisafirebrandmusicianwithabenttowardmuscularpostbop.BorninWarren,OH,in1978,Jonesbeganplayingtrumpetinthefifthgrade,andbyhighschoolhaddevelopedastronginterestinjazz,especiallythemusicoflegendarytrumpeterMilesDavis.GigsatlocaljazzclubsandperformanceswiththeClevelandJazzOrchestrafollowed,andJonesultimatelyenrolledinthemusicschoolatYoungstownStateUniversityinOhio.Graduatingwithabachelor'sdegree,Jonesthenearnedamaster'sdegreefromRutgersUniversity.Sincethattime,Joneshasperformedwithavarietyofnamemusicians,includingJoeLovano,FrankFoster,andothers.HeisalsoamemberoftheLincolnCenterJazzOrchestraandaprofessoratDuquesneUniversityinPittsburgh,PA.Hereleasedhisdebutalbum,EternalJourney,onMackAvenuein2004.GeminiandRootsfollowedin2005and2006,respectively.
