小简介： Veteransfromdozensofbluesjamsessionsandallstarbackingbands,themembersofStoryville—allnativeTexans—gelledatjustsuchajam,in1994attheAustinclubknownasAntones.BassistTommyShannonanddrummerChrisLaytonhadplayedinStevieRayVaughansDoubleTroublefortenyearsbeforethebluesmansdeathin1990,andbothmovedontotheArcAngelsbeforemeetingtheothermembersofStoryville.LeadguitaristDavidHoltplayedontheMavericksdebutalbum,andappearedwithrhythmguitaristDavidGrissominJoeElysbackingband.GrissomhadgainedhisearlyexperiencetouringwithJohnMellencampandtheAllmanBrothers.Theonlymemberofthebandwithlessthantensidemancredits,vocalistMalfordMilligan,sangwiththeAustinbandStickPeoplebeforetheformationofStoryville—named,ofcourse,inhonorofNewOrleanshistoricredlightdistrict. Afterseveralsessionstoworkouttheirbluesysoul/R&B,StoryvillehoppedintotherecordingstudioandproducedanalbumforNovemberRecords.Releasedthesameyearofthebandsfoundation,TheBluestEyeswonthebandsixawardsatthe1995AustinMusicAwards,includingBestBandandBestSingle.TheLPwasratedhighlyinmainstreampublications,andearnedStoryvilleamajorlabelcontract,withtheAtlanticsubsidiaryCodeBlue.Thoughthebandreleasednonewmaterialduring1995,threemoretrophiesatthatyearsAustinMusicAwardswereforthcoming.SecondalbumAPieceofYourSoulwasreleasedin1996,followedin1998byDogYears.
